Facebook is at it again.
Facebook is hiding your messages from you, some of them are spammy phish attempts, some of them from people you know from Facebook groups, some of them from friends you don’t always chat with.
For whatever reason, Facebook hides your messages.
Here’s how to find the Facebook messages Facebook has been hiding.
1. Click on your Messenger app and go to the Settings button at the top (or bottom, depending on whether you’re using Apple or Android).
2.Then go to “People”
3. Click on “Message requests”
4. From there, scroll to the bottom of the page where you’ll see a button “See filtered requests.”
Yes, it takes 4 steps to get to the messages that people have sent you via Facebook, that Facebook has filtered and hidden from you.
Once you get to that last step though? Mind blow. Dozens of messages that have been sitting there for years. I found messages from friends, colleagues, Facebook group buddies, and random spammy phishers.
The messages seemed to have two different characteristics: either really short, or really long. Whatever the reason, if someone hasn’t responded to your Facebook message for a really really long time, then yes, it can be Facebook’s fault.
5. From here you can accept or decline the message request, hopefully fixing the problem for future communications.
How many messages was Facebook hiding from you?
