You knew that once Oprah got her own YouTube channel last year, the daytime talktress was going to be taking things to the web with a little more vigour.
Last week she crashed the whole thing. She was attempting to have a webinar with her latest book club pick. But with more than 500 000 people cramming into the online classroom it crashed.
Oprah’s trying something new here, interactive Internet broadcasting to a mass audience is still an emerging medium.
Being a pioneer is tough and outages happen. The immediate apologies were made, and if you missed the first class, Oprah’s got it archived on her site, on iTunes as a podcast and they’ll try again tonight to do chapter 2 – live.
The book, Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth, urges readers to take collective action to make changes in their own lives and to save the planet.
