We now know how much it will really cost for an iPhone in Canada on July 11. Sure, Steve Jobs already told us $199 for the 8gig 3G iPhone, but the data and voice plans that go along with the iPhone are what Canadians have been anxiously awaiting since release.
Rogers and Fido announced their iPhone plans today. Fido is owned by Rogers, so don’t expect anything different between the plans. In fact, the only difference is how they’re branded – Rogers promises “flexible” while Fido claims to serve up “high value”.

I have been quite disappointed at Rogers through this whole process. There has been no fanfare or marketing thrown behind the iPhone launch. Which is odd considering the brand value this phone will have for Rogers in 2 weeks.
John Biehler is the smartest iPhone owner in Metro Vancouver and has some more thoughts on what he calls an “epic FAIL.”
Thanks! Now I know what to budget for after the 11th.
